COSGRAMS gets new executive committee

A new executive committee has been elected to run the affairs of Community Secondary Grammar School (COSGRAMS) Ugep, Cross River State.

The executives include a legal luminary, Eric Onen Okoi Ifere, President; an Associate Professor, University of Calabar, Hodo Riman- Vice President; Gabriel Ukpenetu- Secretary; Godwin Iwara, Financial Secretary; Lovelyn Eteng, Treasurer; and Dr. Thomas Ofem- Publicity Secretary.


In a statement by the new Publicity Secretary, Dr. Thomas Ofem, the swearing- in of the new exco is scheduled for June 22, 2024.

In his acceptance speech, Ifere, thanked all the distinguished old students (Alumni) of COSGRAMS, Ugep, acknowledging that it is a great honour to serve alongside the other members of the EXCO team for the stipulated term.

He said that his primary desire was borne out of his belief that “we must bequeath to our alma mater, where we were nurtured and given sound education. We will gladly make material contributions towards improving the learning and character of those who follow our footsteps in the institution”.

He promised to uphold “the values and traditions of our alma mater and to steer our association towards a future filled with promise and progress”.

He also promised that “with the new Exco in place, we will, as a united team and in collaboration with all alumni, unveil a comprehensive plan to guide the affairs of the alumni association and, more importantly, advance the interests of our alma mater”.

“I implore each of you to heed the call to duty and help us make our association as robust as possible for the benefit of our community. We eagerly await your valuable input,  innovative ideas, and financial and structural support to transform our alma mater into a beacon of excellence, fostering outstanding learning and character development among our students”.
