Red Star seeks early passage of budget, unveils promo

BudgetRed Star Express Plc said early passage of national budget would help operators in the real sector to put in-house measures in place for financial year operations, as well contribute meaningfully to the economic growth.

But in contrast, the company noted that delayed budget plan will always keep investments, both domestic and foreign, on the sidelines, as investors would only be speculating over the direction of the economy.

The Managing Director of the company, Sule Umar Bichi, while unveiling a 46-day promotion, which started yesterday to January 15, 2016, said early budget passage benefits the real sector and the economy at large.

According to him, every organisation involved in production, import and export, with huge numbers in its employ, would always want to know the direction of government at the beginning of each year to guide its own budget, but where that is not forthcoming, the fastest signal will be “uncertainty”.

He noted that the logistics industry would need the budget to plan its fleet operations, as the budget would outline government’s infrastructure development plans, which include road network and ports.

The loyalty promo tagged: “Pay Less, Ship More”, according to Bichi, is an effort to reinforce its customer relations.

Speaking on the dynamics of the promo, he said that every retail customer is entitled to a 50 per cent savings on transactions across Nigeria, during the forthcoming festive season.
