Transactions on the equity sector of the Nigerian Stock Exchange sustained sliding profile yesterday, occasioned by price losses recorded by major blue chip companies, as market capitalization depreciates further by N45 billion.

Yesterday, the All-share index slides by 132.01 points 0.5 per cent from 25,277.29 recorded on Tuesday to 25,145.28 while market capitalization fell by N45 per cent from N8,694 trillion to N8,649 trillion.

On the price movement chart, 23 stocks depreciated in price, led by United Bank for Africa with 9.27 per cent to close at N3.23 per share. United Capital followed with 5.61 per cent to close at N1.85 per cent. FBN holdings lost 5.36 per cent to close at N3.00 per share. PZ Cussons shed 4.98 per cent to close at N22.71 per share.

Sterling Bank dropped 4.91 per cent to close at N1.55 per cent. Air Service shed 4.76 per cent to close at N2.00 per share. Tigerbrands lost 4.71 per cent to close at N2.43 per share.

African prudential dropped 4.60 per cent to close at N2.28 per share. Continental Reinsurance lost 4.40 per cent to close at N0.87 per share.
Fidelity Bank shed 4.35 per cent to close at N1.32 per share.

Nigerian Breweries, TransNational Corporation, Unity Bank dropped 4.32,4.31 and 4.29 per cent to close at N107.00, N1.11 and N0.67 per share.
Deap Capital dropped 3.57 per cent to close at N0.54 per share. Zenith Bankalso lost 3.09 per cent to close at N10.96 per share.

On other hands, Vitafoam topped the gainers chart with 9.53 per cent to close at N5.17 per share. National Salt Company of Nigeria followed with 7.27 per cent to close at N7.08 per share. Champion Breweries gained 4.76 per cent to close at N3.08 per share. Livestock added 4.67 per cent to close at N1.12 per share. Flour mills gained 4.64 per cent to close at N19.40 per share.

Neimeth added 4.55 per cent to close at N0.69 per share. Wema bank gained 3.95 per cent to close at N0.79 per share. First City Monument Bank added 3.75 per cent to close at N0.83 per share.
Seplat gained 3.33 per cent to close at N310.00 per share. West African Portland Company also added 2.60 per cent to close at N79.00 per share.
