Nigerian Breweries Plc has invested N1 billion this year towards improving the quality of More Lager Beer brand, which it acquired two years ago.

The More Lager Beer brand was acquired from the Benue State Government in 2013 by the Consolidated Breweries Plc, which also later merged into the Nigerian Breweries Plc in 2014.

The company’s Corporate Affairs Adviser, Kufre Ekanem, who spoke at an event in Makurdi, the State capital, said the upgrade of the More brand would give consumers a new taste experience

According to him, the investment in upgrading Nigerian Breweries’ Makurdi brewery and enhancing the brand represents a bold attempt to showcase the company’s commitment to the people of Benue State.

“As the brewery responsible for brewing More Lager Beer, a brand wholly produced with locally sourced raw materials, this investment totals over N1bn for 2015 alone.

“This highlights our confidence in the fundamentals of the local economy to provide the enabling macro-economic environment for businesses to thrive”, he added.

Ekanem stated that the company had constructed several blocks of classrooms in some parts of the state as part of its corporate social responsibility.
