NAMA inaugurates safety audit committee, tasks ATCs

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has inaugurated a safety audit committee to carry out periodic checks on its systems and navigational equipment at the nations airport in line with the requirement of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has inaugurated a safety audit committee to carry out periodic checks on its systems and navigational equipment at the nations airport in line with the requirement of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Speaking during the occasion,the Managing Director of NAMA Engr. Ibraheem Abdulsalam noted that the safety audit team which was made of experienced and tested personnel would ensure that all the agencys equipment and systems receive safety audit at regular intervals in order to enhance uninterrupted air navigation service provision

He also charged Air Traffic Controllers across the nation to show more commitment and dedication to duty as the agency makes effort to revolutionize the nation’s Air Traffic Management capacity.

Speaking during the 44th AGM/Conference of Nigeria Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) held in Akure,Ondo State, he further noted that recent investments in projects like the Automatic Dependent Surveillance / Controller Pilot Data Link Communication (ADS-C/CPDLC) and the Kano Safe Tower would make for more effective management of the nation’s airspace.
