With its foray into the Near Field Communications (NFC) technology, PayAttitude- a new payment channel, may soon raise a competition for card-based transactions, as it currently processes transactions at record 100 per cent success in seconds.

Already, the phased deployment of the payment channel has taken off in Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt, Warri and Enugu, with several outlets in banks, major supermarkets and fast food centres.

The Group Head, Business Development and Country Manager, PayAttitude, Mrs. Titi Olubiyi, while speaking journalists during the presentation of monthly rewards to four customers, said the technology behind PayAttitude is where the world is currently gravitating.

The four customers who won prizes ranging from deep freezers to generating sets, however attested to seamless operations of the payment channel and its consistency over months of usage.

According to Olubiyi, there is nothing like network challenges with PayAttitude, which is prevalent in some Point of Sale operations.

She said the tag was designed with convenience in mind as it can be stuck at the back of the phone, which everyone goes with, eliminating the uncertainties of network connections and risk of carrying cash around.
“To fund it is very easy because you know we have partner banks and other locations, where the services are provided. If you go to our website you can find a list of where to get PayAttitude and pay with it,” she said.
Olubiyi said PayAttitude is a global firm, but brought to the country by a consortium of banks and licensed by Central Bank of Nigeria in year 2013.

The scheme, she noted, is innovative as one can pay and withdraw money from the merchants, as well as Automated Teller Machines that have compatible solutions.

Also, the Head of Department, PayAttitude, Obehi Ebhomielen, said: “Those POS terminals that you see with PayAttitude logo are not just ordinary ones. They are NFC enabled POS andspend or add money through it, it has the capability to immediately reflect new balance. It is that smart to know exactly the transaction you have done and these are the unique propositions of PayAttitude.
“As long as customers transfer money to their e-purse, all transactions done, with the fund being adequate, will be successful, because the value sits on the tag. So the PoS does not need to speak to any third party to confirm the value, but speaks directly to the tag and authorize payment, as well as write the new balance in the tag also.
