Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has declared his State as the safest haven for investors to stake their investment as their greatest hindrance of insecurity has been suppressed to the lowest level in the last two years.

Bello who spoke during an on-the-spot assessment of the activities of special troupe deployed by the Presidency to curb the growing insecurity in the North States of Kaduna, Benue, Nassarawa, Taraba and Kogi States, said Kogi is the safest for investors.

“You are aware of some acts of criminality and insecurity in Benue, Kogi, Kaduna, Taraba, Nassarawa, and for some times, in the North Central region. In the wisdom of the President and Commander-in-chief of the armed forces, he directed the chief of Army Staff to deploy some special troops to carry out various operations in these areas.

“It started from Benue and the other places and it is equally being carried out here in Kogi. It is called ‘ operation cat race’”

He said the fact that exercise has been ongoing in State for sometime he decided to visit the troops that are carrying out the exercise in the field. 

“I met them in a very high moral and they are doing an excellent job and crimes and criminalities have been brought down to the barest minimum in Kogi. 

“Though we had put in our best in the past, they are equally complementing our efforts at the moment. 

“He observed that at the moment he was inviting investors to the state because it is the safest place for investment today.”

He said his entourage went far into the forest to their operational base, the various camps and found the men in the trenches.
