‘NACC committed to bilateral ties promotion, members’ development’

National President, Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC), Olabintan Famutimi, has said the chamber will continue to promote the development of trade, commerce, investment and industrial technological relationships between the public and private sectors in Nigeria and the United States of America.

Speaking at its yearly dinner dance in Lagos, Famutimi, said the focus of the chamber is to provide avenue for businesses to grow, stating that NACC would continue to build capacity, train businesses, open new market window, getting members off takers of their products.

He described the dinner as a relaxation gathering to celebrate as a prelude to the festive season.According to him the chamber has done a lot in the year, contributing to government policies with the executive orders that were recently issued, saying the chamber was the first to contribute to it.

He mentioned that the chamber has been at the forefront of championing the course of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) which was meant to expand the country’s export window.Famutimi said NACC have setup the AGOA desk in its secretariat to provide assistance for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMES) on the act.

His words: “We mobilize finance companies to help provide loans for small businesses to thrive. We have helped them in preparing them for capacity building becoming export ready. We have been training, advocating, advising and our one-stop desk at the secretariat helps all Nigerian companies who wants help in knowing what to do, so that they can export not only to America but to other parts of the world.”

“In 2018, we would continue what we are doing, we are providing avenue for businesses to grow. We would continue to build capacity, train businesses, open market, getting members off takers of their products. That is what we will continue to do”.
