IICC confab to discuss sector, financial inclusion

The fourth edition of the Insurance Industry Consultative Conference (IICC), scheduled for July 8 to 10 in Abuja, will gather stakeholders in the industry to discuss issues affecting the economy, how it relates to insurance and the financial inclusion programme.

The conference is expected to be declared open by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, according to the Chairman, Planning Committee, Femi Hassan, at a media parley in Lagos.

He said the idea behind the formation of the IICC is to give a unified and cohesive voice to the industry, adding that the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun will give a keynote address, while the Commissioner for Insurance, Mohammed Kari, will be the Chief Host.

According to him, the conference, with the theme: ìInsurance Industry and Financial Inclusionî, will feature an array of highly resourceful speakers to do justice to the subject of discourse, adding that the Founder/Chairman, Zenith Bank Plc, Jim Ovia, will discuss the theme paper.

He maintained that in view of the topical nature of the theme, the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Financial System Stability, Aishah Ahmad, is expected to be the Chairman of session, while a team of seasoned discussants, notably the Head, Financial Inclusion Secretariat, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mrs. Temitope Akin-Fadeyi; Olu Okunnu of Old Mutual; and Dr. Ndubisi Chinedu would lend their dependable voices.
