The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) has reaffirmed its commitment to protect the rights and safety of Nigerian consumers.

Indeed, the council stated the need to seek ways to provide innovative and efficient to address consumer complaints in the country, stressing that the council would stop at nothing to ensure that Nigerians get value for their hard work we money spent.

The Director General, CPC, Babatunde Irukera, at an inspection exercise to Friesland Campina WAMCO’s factory in Lagos said, the council in conjunction with NAFDAC decided to inspect the factory to identify itself with the production processes of the company.

In his words,”We just conducted a broad regulatory inspection by NAFDAC and CPC of Friesland’s factory with respect to their milk products.

One of the ways we do our work is through intelligence report we gather from our surveillance team.

We have come here to inspect their products and try to identify where there are any issues and seek ways to addressing these challenges.”

According to him, “Many times when you conduct a regulatory inspection such as this, there will be things that you feel should be done differently and there will be things that you find they have done well, but based on what we have seen, they understand what their processes are and the company has a credible process and there are quite some redundancy and integrity systems to make sure that the quality of their products that they distribute are not compromised.”

He however advised the company not to relent on their efforts in producing quality products to give Nigerians access to quality and healthy nutrition.
