Forte oil, Dangote Cement others push NSE’s indices by 3.10 per cent

Forte Oil Plc closed higher at the end of yesterday’s transactions on the trading floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. It led 35 others gainers with N8.85 kobo to close at N202.95 kobo.

Forte Oil Plc closed higher at the end of yesterday’s transactions on the trading floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. It led 35 others gainers with N8.85 kobo to close at N202.95 kobo.

Following Forte oil yesterday was Dangote Cement, adding of N8.50 kobo to close at N180.50 per share. Other gainers of yesterday’s transactions are Nigerian Breweries appreciating by N6.05 kobo to close at N127.05 per share, Guinness Nigeria plc, adding N5.93 kobo to close at N136.93 per share while 7UP Bottling company gained N5.00 to close at N195.00 per share.

However, ‎Northern Nigeria Flour Mill Plc topped losers chart, dropping by N0.73 kobo to close at N13.99 per share. Berger Paints trailed with a loss of N0.49 kobo to close at N9.50 per share. Champion Breweries fell by N0.10 kobo to close at N4.99 per share.

Nigerian Aviation Handling Company and Sterling Bank shed N0.10 kobo and N0.07 kobo to close at N4.75 and N2.08 per share.

Consequently, the market capitalisation of listed equities increased by N324 billion or 3.10 per cent to N10.763 trillion from N10.439 trillion.

Also the NSE All Share Index went up by 944.89 basis points to 31403.75 points from 30458.86 traded the previous day. Investors during the day traded 336.160 million shares valued at N3.037 billion in 4243 deals against 668.324 million shares valued at N4.763 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 4416 deals.

Further analysis of yesterday’s transactions showed that ‎ Continental Reinsurance recorded the highest volume of activities for the day, exchanging 51.765 million shares worth N45.643 million, Zenith International Bank Plc followed with 42.177 million shares worth N726.619 million, Wapic Insurance traded 37.016 million shares valued at N18.508 million.

Access Bank took fourth position accounting for 36.165 million shares cost N177.117 million while Guaranty Trust Bank sold a total of 25.183 million shares worth N642.366 million.
