AIICO Insurance tennis competition, 75 players vie for honours

Seventy-five players will be competing for honours in the AIICO Insurance sponsored individual and team tennis competition for members of Ikoyi Club 1938 tennis section, which kicked off last week in Lagos.

The Managing Director, AIICO Insurance Plc, Edwin Igbiti, at a press conference in Lagos to announce the beginning of the competition, said the company is happy to collaborate with the Tennis Section of Ikoyi Club 1938 for the second year running, adding that the sponsorship aligns with AIICO’s vision to encourage a healthy lifestyle and wellness through sports.

The Vice Chairman, Tennis Section of Ikoyi Club 1938, Collins Onuegbu, commended the efforts of the underwriting firm for the decision to sustain the championship amidst the recession. He urged the firm to make the sponsorship even bigger next year.

He further stated that the tennis championship promotes inclusiveness amongst members as the 75 participants will be rewarded with exciting prizes and trophies.

The Games Captain, Tennis Section of the Club, Akeem Mustafa, stated that AIICO championship will run for one week and despite the competitive intensity of the championship, the major objective is to enhance members’ fitness through healthy competition and to foster bonding amongst members in a fun and friendly environment.
