At Swansea Fashion Week Platnum Apparel excels with eco-friendly collection

Swansea Fashion Week 2024, held in the UK, saw a standout performance from Platnum Apparel, a brand known for its lifestyle and sustainable fashion.

Platnum Apparel’s journey began at Covenant University in Nigeria, where CEO and Founder Adeola Adedokun, an architecture student, turned his passion for fashion into a thriving business.

“I always believed in the power of fashion to inspire and transform. What started as a small university venture has now evolved into a thriving international business, making headlines and placing itself on the global stage,” he said.

At the event, Platnum Apparel showcased their latest collections, emphasising their commitment to sustainability. The brand’s approach, blending contemporary designs with eco-friendly materials, impressed attendees and set them apart in an industry increasingly valuing sustainability.

“The brand is poised to become a major player in the global fashion arena,” said Oluwafemi Adediwura, an attendee at the event. “Their innovative approach, combined with a strong commitment to sustainability and community engagement, positions them as a reputable brand.”

“Platnum Apparel has established itself as a go-to brand for fashion-forward consumers. Our commitment to quality and creativity has resonated with customers worldwide,” the founder said. This success is driven by a deep understanding of their market and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

Speaking further at the event, Adedokun shared the inspiration behind his latest collection. “I have a strong passion and deep commitment to two words: innovation and sustainability. Fashion is an ever-evolving industry, and it’s crucial to stay ahead of trends while also addressing environmental impact. By incorporating sustainable materials, we aim to set a standard for future collections that highlight the importance of eco-friendly fashion without compromising on aesthetics or quality.”

He also reflected on the challenges faced during the brand’s growth from a university venture to an international presence. “One of the biggest hurdles was establishing a robust supply chain that could meet the demands of our growing customer base while maintaining the quality we stand for.

“We also faced the challenge of building brand recognition in a highly competitive market. We overcame these by focusing on creating unique, high-quality products and leveraging digital marketing to reach wider audiences. Collaborations and strategic partnerships played a crucial role in our journey.

“We are actively exploring opportunities to expand into other African countries and major fashion markets such as the United States and Europe. We see a growing appreciation for African-inspired fashion globally, and we believe that Platnum Apparel can offer something unique to these markets. We are also considering the Middle East, where there’s a rising interest in both sustainable and contemporary fashion.”

According to Adedokun, their primary goal is to solidify thier presence in the markets and expand to new ones. They also aim to expand our product lines, particularly in sustainable fashion, and continue to innovate with new designs and materials.”

“We also plan to enhance our digital presence and e-commerce capabilities to provide a seamless shopping experience for our global customers. We will keep working to engage with our community through events, collaborations, and social initiatives to grow our brand identity and customer loyalty.”

For aspiring entrepreneurs, especially in Nigeria, Adedokun encouraged them to have a clear vision and stay committed, embrace learning, network actively, and leverage our unique culture, be adaptable and open to innovation
