Idoma International Carnival 2017 set to rock Otukpo

It started as one man’s vision and dream, when philanthropist, mentor and leader, Prince Edwin Ochai, initiated Idoma International Carnival, as it president.

It started as one man’s vision and dream, when philanthropist, mentor and leader, Prince Edwin Ochai, initiated Idoma International Carnival, as it president. Now it has grown to be the biggest carnival celebrated in the Middle Belt (north of Niger), and held in the heart of the Idoma nation at Otukpo, Benue State, Nigeria.

This year, the carnival is being taken notches higher than before with the inclusion of many interesting facets that would make the carnival and Otukpo tourism destination of choice. The Idoma International Carnival 2017 (formerly Agila Carnival, which made its debut in 2013) celebrates a perfect blend of cultural heritage and entertainment and scheduled to hold from December 22 through 25, 2017 in Otukpo, the traditional headquarters of the Idoma, the heart of the lion and land of brave.

The carnival will feature The Face of Idoma International 2017, Carnival Band Procession and Competition, Cultural display and competition, Ogbureke Traditional Wrestling, Football Tournament, Arts and Food Exhibition, Mini Trade Fair, Idoma Merit Awards, Carnival Village, Fireworks/Burn Fire Night, Music and Comedy from Nigeria’s A-list of home-based stars. Venue is at St. Mary’s Primary School, Otukpo, Benue State.
