Augustine Anigala to deliver DELSU’s 57th inaugural lecture

Delta State University, Abraka, will be abuzz on Thursday, May 25, when Augustine Enumah Anigala, a professor of Theatre Arts, will mount the podium to deliver the institution’s 57th inaugural lecture titled “Dressed to Kill Who?”

Prof. Anigala, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Calabar, also obtained a Master of Arts and a doctorate, both in Theatre Arts, from the University of Ibadan.

Delta State University, Abraka, will be abuzz on Thursday, May 25, when Augustine Enumah Anigala, a professor of Theatre Arts, will mount the podium to deliver the institution’s 57th inaugural lecture titled “Dressed to Kill Who?”

Prof. Anigala, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Calabar, also obtained a Master of Arts and a doctorate, both in Theatre Arts, from the University of Ibadan. He settled down to life as a university don at Abraka and rose to become a professor in the Department of Theatre Arts. His scholarship bestrides the different gamut of dramatic literature, embracing African drama and performance, acting and directing, creative writing, etc.

A member of many prestigious professional societies, Anigala’s profound intellect manifests in the many academic books, essays as well as plays he has to his credit. Apart from his robust intellectual credentials, Anigala has served the university in different capacities as head of Theatre Arts department, Dean of Faculty of Arts, University’s Public Orator and presently, Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of academics. The inaugural lecture, which is scheduled to take off at 11am, will be chaired by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Victor F. Peretomode. The general public is invited.
