Total E&P partners ASKG to build 170 – capacity skill acquisition centre for women

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS), Total E&P Nigeria Limited is collaborating with Akwa Ibom State government to build a 170- capacity skill acquisition centre for women in the state.

This was disclosed by the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Nicholas Terraz during the ground-breaking ceremony for the project in Uyo, the state capital.

Represented by the General Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility, Dr. Charles Ngeribara, the company noted that, on completion, the centre would enable women to acquire entrepreneurship skills.

Ngeribara said this would assist young women to augment their family income, thereby improving the overall wellbeing of their families.

He said Total E&P Nigeria Limited was not new in making the communities where its operate happy, stressing that, the company has impacted many communities in the areas of education, health, human and business capacity development for women and youths as well as provision of potable water, among others.

He commended the Akwa Ibom State government for accepting to partner with the company by providing the land for the project and Ministry of Women Affairs for the support which has led to the successful ground-breaking ceremony.

“We are sure that with this continued support from all these stakeholders, we shall all gathered here before the end of the year for the bigger ceremony of commission and handing over,” he said.
