Remita wins most innovative e-payment company award

The developer of Remita software for online payment, SystemSpecs, has won the most innovative e-payment company at the BusinessDay top 25 most innovative companies and institutions award.

The award was in recognition of Remita’s continued leadership and innovation of the financial technology space through the facilitation of secure and seamless financial transactions.

Chief Commercial Officer, SystemSpecs, David Okeme noted that the recognition was pivotal to the role of Remita in driving transformation of payment system in Nigeria and Africa.

His words: “Coming after the unveiling of the beta version of our Remita App, this recognition reinforces our commitment to transforming how payments are made and received in Nigeria and across the African continent.

“Remita, a local software developed by SystemSpecs and adopted by Federal Government for the collection of government revenue, through the Treasury Single Account (TSA) has processed about N7 trillion in April, which underscores the ability of the company to develop local but innovative applications that could compete globally. ”

Publisher of BusinessDay Newspaper, Frank Aigbogun, said the recognition was in commendation of the achievements of those who were spurring growth, development, creating new economic opportunities, and inspiring the new generation of innovators despite the economic recession.
