PTI appoints Mafindi new finance, accounts director

Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Effurun, Delta State

The Governing Council of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Effurun, Delta State, has appointed Aliyu Mafindi as Director of Finance and Accounts (DFA).

The appointment, which is for four years in the first instance, was contained in a letter signed by the Registrar and Secretary of Council, Abubakar Tanimu.

A statement from the institute’s Assistant Director/Head, Public Affairs, Brown Ukanefimoni, said Mafindi assumed duties on August 1, 2017.

Prior to his appointment, he was a Deputy Bursar in the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State.

Mafindi, 49 holds a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) in Business Administration in 1991, Master of Science (MSc) and Master in Business Administration (MBA) in 2001 and 2015 all from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

He is a Certified National Accountant (CNA) of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN); chartered member, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM); fellow, Chartered Institute of Cost Management (CICMA) and member, Institute of Management Consultants (IMC).

Mafindi started his working career at ABU in 1994 from where he moved to become the finance officer representing the Bursar at the Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) and the National Animal Production Institute (NAPRI), among others

He also served as Acting Chief Accountant, Budget and Expenditure; Accountant, Capital Expenditure and Finance Officer at different times.
