Osinbajo, Adeboye laud Redeemer Varsity for training change agents

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has commended Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, for producing graduates with high academic standard, requisite skills and competences that would contribute to the development of the society.

He made the commendation while delivering a speech at the institution’s ninth convocation ceremony.Osinbajo, who is Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the institution, said he was proud of associating with the project that is running with a vision and divine mandate to produce global future leaders and change agents.

“I commend the management of the university for consistently striving for excellence. It is an evidence of an institution that will surely continue to raise global leaders,” he said.

Osinbajo also commended the university for its contributions to nation building and societal development through collaboration with governmental and non-governmental agencies locally and internationally, as well as world-class universities to transform the society.

He lauded the university’s cutting edge in research development, especially in the area of sciences through which it has been proffering solutions to basic health challenges, particularly during the outbreak of Ebola disease in 2014.

“I am sure Redeemer’s University will witness even more breakthroughs in researches so that it could continue making more transformative impacts on the society,” he added.

The Visitor to the university and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Adejare Adeboye, also congratulated the institution for setting high academic standard and contributing to nation building.

Praying for the graduating students, he said: “Your joy will never cease. God will move you from glory to glory. All that the world will hear from you is good news.”He also commended the management for doing a good job saying, the university will soon be number one in the world.

Details of the graduating students showed that 22 made First Class, 145 made Second Class, Upper Division, 203 graduated with Second Class, Lower Division, 95 made Third Class while three graduated with pass.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Debo Adeyewa, said the university has continued to make steady progress in academic standard and research and has been rated high among its peers in Africa.
