Obaseki, others to be honoured at Edo State festival Awards in London

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and other prominent Edo citizens including foremost lady mechanic, Sandra Aguebor, who have excelled in their fields of endeavour will be honored in London, United Kingdom at the sixth Edo Festival and Award scheduled for November 4, 2017.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and other prominent Edo citizens including foremost lady mechanic, Sandra Aguebor, who have excelled in their fields of endeavour will be honored in London, United Kingdom at the sixth Edo Festival and Award scheduled for November 4, 2017.

Other awards categories at the event include the most outstanding local government chairman during the administration of immediate past Governor, Adams Oshiomhlole and the best transport company in the state.

Chairman, Organising Committee, Ken Odeh, said the event will feature Edo cultural dance, fashion show, music and awards to distinguished personalities who have contributed to the growth of the state.

The award of excellence, which is to be conferred on Aguebor and others, requested members of the public to vote for the most outstanding local council chairman and the Best Transport Company by logging on to www.edofestivalandawards.com.

He said the purpose of the festival and awards is to raise awareness and promote Edo culture globally and particularly for the state indigenes in the Diaspora.

He said the theme of this year’s event: Youth Empowerment, is expected to have Obaseki, the state Commissioner for Arts and Culture and other prominent Edo indigenes in attendance.
