NBCC appoints Bunmi Afolabi as new DG

The Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce has appointed Mrs Bunmi Afolabi as the Director-General of the Chamber. This announcement was made at the council meeting of the Chamber held recently in Lagos.

The Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce has appointed Mrs Bunmi Afolabi as the Director-General of the Chamber. This announcement was made at the council meeting of the Chamber held recently in Lagos.

The Assistant Account Officer (NBCC), Omoye Braimoh said in a statement on Monday that Afolabi is an Alumnus of the Lagos Business School Advanced Management Program and a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, she also holds an MBA from Cranfield University, United Kingdom.

According to her, prior to joining the NBCC, Afolabi was the Alumni Relations Director at Lagos Business School where she was responsible for the strategic planning, implementation and maintenance of programs to engage alumni and further strengthen relationships within the school’s growing network.

“Afolabi had earlier been involved in setting up the Nigerian Office of the African Distributor for Autodesk in Nigeria and led the Nigerian operations. “She started her career as an Education Manager in NCR and thereafter was with Bi-TraxAxxent for 15 years where she was the Managing Director.

“The Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce with over 300 members is the foremost bi-literal chamber and has been operating for over 40 years. The NBCC provides a veritable network for private sector players to interact and exploit business opportunities that abound in Nigeria and in Britain. They facilitate trade, foster cooperation and broaden horizons”

“Afolabi brings to the table, over 26 years wealth of experience, and a track record of leadership and administrative experience that will take the Chamber to greater height”, Braimoh said .
