Not fewer than 2,550 people have been employed by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai in the newly created Kaduna State Traffic and Environmental Law Enforcement Agency (KASTELEA).

The General Manager of KASTELEA, Colonel Abdullahi Zubairu Ahmed (rtd) told Journalists in Kachia, while supervising the training of the recruited staff that the agency was created to bring sanity among road users in the state.
According to Ahmed, the agency was empowered by law to control and regulate traffic around Kaduna metropolis as well as any other parts within Kaduna State.

He said: “This is the first kind of employment of about 2550 people that was conducted without any rancour. By time we are done with the training of the new recruited personnel, we will bring about a better condition of living in the state,” he said.
Ahmed also added “our job is to ensure sanity and to reduce number of death in our roads.”

The agency, according to him, would help in generating revenue for the state “because whoever is caught violating traffic regulation would be made to pay a token to the state. But our major aim is to ensure sanity on the state.”

Besides, the Governor was also commended for keeping faith with his campaign promises, just as he pointed out “people drive without law and without order in Kaduna State, so the major aim is to ensure we sanitize road users and bring about discipline to Motorists.”
