The Ikeja Electric (IE) has announced the promotion of 97 employees across its junior and senior staff cadres.

A statement by the management of the electricity distribution company said 34 senior staff and 63 junior staff members were elevated in the exercise spread across its six business units and Head Office.

The company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue, explained that the promotions are in line with management’s desire to reward excellent performance across the business.

“The promotion will further boost employee morale and productivity, ensuring that they continue to delight our company’s esteemed customers through efficient customer service delivery,” he said.

Ofulue added that one of the key objectives of the organisation is to create a high performing company, which satisfies the needs of its customers, as it continues to re-engineer its operations for greater impact, while expressing its resolve to deliver service excellence.

Meanwhile, the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has employed 35 fresh graduates under its Graduate Trainee Programme (GTP).

The graduates, who were employed after the firm’s onboarding, had been deployed to different sections of the company’s operations where they would be exposed for two years in all aspects of operations.

Head of Communications, EEDC, Emeka Eze, said the GTP, patterned after some successful graduate traineeship programmes, is management’s initiative to attract and develop the best and brightest young graduates from universities within and outside the country.
