Institute of Brand Management of Nigeria, has awarded Hygeia Health Management Organization (HMO), as the HMO Brand of the Year 2018.

Hygeia HMO is the leading health insurance and medical aid provider in Nigeria, regulated by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

According to the Institute, the award earned by Hygeia HMO accounts for the significant improvement in market affinity and awareness of the Hygeia brand.

“As brand practitioners ourselves, we were on the lookout for the one brand in the health insurance space that was doing the work that we could recognize as impactful and Hygeia HMO with the widest coverage in Nigeria stood out quite remarkably with delivery and quality,” the institute said.

Speaking on the achievement, Executive Head of Strategy and Business Development, Hygeia HMO, Obinna Ukachukwu said, “Our strategy of providing healthcare to everyone in Nigeria whether employed, unemployed or sole entrepreneur is paying off. We started on this journey of personal and family healthcare plans with Nigerian families and small businesses in mind and we have been very pleased with the growth.”

Ukachukwu explained that Hygeia HMO’s devotion to improving affordability of quality health care is unequalled in Nigeria. Hygeia HMO’s personal and family plans start at only N23, 000 for a full year’s cover ensuring basic healthcare cover. The Hygeia HMO mobile app for members serves as identity, provides full transparency on the benefits to be received, the available hospital network and even has basic health monitoring features like a Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator.
