To eliminate losses and guard against downtime in industries in Nigeria, a safety and security firm, Crown Safemasters Nigeria Limited in conjunction with FirePro Systems, Cyrus has introduced a revolutionary fire suppression system into the country to enhance safety process.

Speaking at the technical and commercial presentation of FirePro Aerosol Solution for electrical and electronic equipment to the Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Lagos Chapter, the company representative, Michael George, said the technology is a failsafe system that protect against risks previously considered impossible.

He said: “FirePro systems are ideal for both traditional and non-conventional applications. Moreover, they find use in applications once considered technically or financially challenging for other technologies.”According to him, the technology ensures easy connection to conventional fire detection and activation systems, and total flooding action to extinguish fire at source.

He added that it is space and weight saving and also easy to install in new and retrofit projects.Explaining how the technology works, George said when activated, the FPC solid compound in the system is transformed into a rapidly expanding extremely effective and efficient fire extinguishing condensed aerosol.“The generated aerosol is propagated and even distributed in the enclosure under protection using its own momentum.

Fire extinguishing is accomplished by the interruption of the chemical chain reactions occurring in the flame and not by oxygen depletion or cooling as suggested by traditional triangle of fire”, he said.

Executive Director, Crown Safemasters Nigeria Limited, Alex Imegu said unlike before when extinguishers can not be install in electrical panels, PirePro solution could be use to protect equipment before any possibility of damages in the panels.

According to him, FirePro solution is the best way to safeguard equipment since conventional fire systems has limitations.Imegu noted that the technology would help protect against supply chain scarcity, damage, destruction, and insurance risk.

Also, speaking, Publicity Secretary, NIEEE, Oluseyi Basorun, said since no one can adequately predict when fire outbreak might occur at a particular time, the solution the company came out with is a welcome development.
