The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, will today address the challenges of infrastructure development in the country.

He is expected to speak as Special Guest of Honour at the Advocacy Roundtable forum of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria, holding at Oriental Hotel, Lagos by 10am.

A statement by the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Institute, Dele Alimi, noted that the essence of the forum, was to explore partnership opportunities in the private and public sectors towards filling the yawning infrastructural gap in the country.

The forum with the theme: Filling The Infrastructure Gap, will also provide a veritable platform of networking opportunities for policy and decision makers.

Chairman of the Institute’s Research and Advocacy Committee, Dapo Adelegan, said the forum was necessitated by the rising need for the Federal Government to address the ever-widening gap in the provision of basic infrastructure at the rural and business areas in the country.

Adelegan added that the forum would also take a dialectical analysis of the challenges and prospects of government’s policies that engender wealth creation and enhance investment in the sector.

Other speakers expected at the roundtable include Managing Director/CEO, Infrastructure Bank Plc, Adekunle Oyinloye, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Andrew Neville and Managing Director/CEO, Benin Electricity Distribution Plc, Funke Osibodu, among others.

As a full-fledged member of the Institute of Directors Worldwide Network and the African Corporate Governance Network (ACGN), IoD Nigeria represents top-level directors, policy makers and business leaders.
