Experts task individuals, organisations on safety strategies

Security experts have charegd individuals and organisations to adopt electronic digital security strategies to ensure the safety of lives and property in the country.

They advised that people should invest in modern devices such as flashlight stun guns, pepper sprays, video entries such as door phone bells and Digital closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras to enhance security and sight activities that go on around them.

A security expert in Information Technology, Chris Nwanike, gave the charge at a security seminar organised by the Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) with the theme: Modern Approach to Safety in Nigeria.

He said modern digital devices were important for security, noting that digital Internet protocol camera (IP/MP), digital CCTV, intrusion detection (ID) anti-malware, envelope detectors (E-detectors), and SAI dogs were effective devices.

He charged the government to take people’s security concerns more seriously as its negligence had increased the high rate of crime in the country.

A Lagos-based Security Consultant, Chuks Maha, argued that the reason why people go into crime was to enable them meet their needs.
