APBN unveils plans for professionals’ week

The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), Lagos State Chapter, has concluded plans to hold its second ‘Professionals’ Week aimed at positioning it to the forefront of professionals.

The programme is also aimed at building new community of professionals, making its messages more contemporary, as well as recruiting new ambassadors. It builds connection with ethics, education, industry, family, corporate social responsibility and nation-state development for its stakeholders.

Speaking at the briefing, Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of APBN, Wasiu Akewusola, said: “Over the last two years, the Lagos Professionals’ Week (LPW) has engaged the academia, political leadership, corporates, small and medium scale enterprises, professionals and NGOs.

“LPW is about commencing fresh thinking through thought leadership lectures, health and legal aids and career talks that will encourage the youths to focus on their education and unleash their potentials by becoming professionals”.

This year, Lagos Professionals’ Week is bigger and bolder. Innovative programmes to start the event include Legal and Health Clinic in partnership with the Ikeja Local Government, on Tuesday October 31, 2017.

The programme will feature Career Talks and Mentoring for teens and young adults in pre-selected secondary schools in the six Education Districts in partnership with the Ministry of Education on Wednesday November 1, 2017.

Principal Consultant, Phillips Consulting Group and former Chairman, Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Mr. Foluso Phillips, is expected to deliver the thematic public lecture entitled: Solutions to Contemporary Business Development Challenges for Professionals, at the LCCI Conference Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos on Thursday, November 2, 2017.

Chairman and Chief Executive Office, Channels Media Group, John Momoh, and Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Wasiu Anifowose, will be Special Guest of Honour and Chairman respectively at the annual dinner that climaxes the Lagos Professionals’ Week at the Sheraton Lagos Hotels and Towers on Friday November 3, 2017.
