No fewer than 350 finance professionals were admitted into the membership of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), a development that has marked increase in demand for the certification.

The Global Chief Executive, ACCA, Helen Brand, said the new members have passed their ethics and professional skills module and now qualified into the membership of globally acknowledged finance and accounting body.

She said the body has been evolving its qualification, which integrates some of their examinations, rather than two sittings, a computer based system, new courses tagged: “Strategic Business Leader and Strategic Business Reporting.”

According to her, ACCA’s core values, which include opportunity, diversity, innovation, accountability and integrity, as an organization, also applies to members as all sings into the code of conduct and committed to abide by it.

She said the organization does not take for granted complaints against its members, as investigations will be commissioned and if found guilty, the membership will be withdrawn.

“We are very proud of ACCA’s acceptance in Nigeria, as they identified the certificate as aspirational and one that can add value to businesses in the country. It’s a very delightful experience that we are playing our own part in developing the economy.

She described ACCA as the world’s leading and fastest growing professional body with its 100 country offices, over 178 countries presence and has recently reached 200,000 members spread over almost every country.

The ACCAs strength lies in its range of partners- from learning partners to employers of its certified professionals, with more than 2000 members in Nigeria that has assumed strategic significance as one of its key markets.
