Aiyedatiwa picks Adelami as Ondo deputy governor

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has nominated a former Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, Olayide Adelami, as his deputy.

Adelami, who is in his 60s, was nominated about a month after Aiyedatiwa emerged as governor following the demise of his boss, the late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in December.

The nomination of Adelami who hailed from Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Council, hometown of late Akeredolu was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan.


The Guardian gathered that the name of Adelami has been forwarded to the Ondo State House of Assembly, which will be officially announced.

Adelami, who was a governorship aspirant in 2020, was the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly until his retirement in April 2018.
