AFI designer takes African fashion global

• Lines Up At Forbes 30/50 Summit In Abu Dhabi
Charged to take the continent’s fashion global, African Fashion International (AFI) will be participating in the inaugural Forbes 30/50 Summit in Abu Dhabi from March 6 to 9, 2022.

With a finely curated line up, the fashion showcase will see Pan-African designers representing all the four corners of the continent. They will be making presentation alongside a UAE-based designer as well as an American designer of Persian ancestry.

Essentially, the global event which will bring together women from both the “30 Under 30” list and “50 Over 50” list in celebration of the International Women’s Day, will host a fashion showcase that will see a sartorial cultural exchange, offering multi-perspective critique of gender norms and women’s empowerment.

The event will feature a runway of cultural exchange that will provide an added touch of recognition for Africa’s already esteemed fashion industry, while also offering creative commentary to the 4-day gathering of global leaders – all of whom form part of Forbes 30 Under 30 and 50 Over 50 community.

Also, the cultural runway will feature the UAE’s Sara Tamimi, a brand that continually pushes the boundaries of conformity. Sara Tamimi’s signature cosmopolitan style offers a reflection of urban life, with timeless elegance.

Completing the lineup will be eveningwear brand, Sima Collezione. Founded just over a year ago, the US-based brand is the brainchild of Sima Azadegan.

The brand comprises 50 high-style designs of exclusive, one-of-a-kind evening dresses.
